Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival, Tromsø
Arrival in Tromsø and transfer by Flybussen to the city center, with a stop just a short walk from the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 2 Tromsø
Breakfast at the hotel. Meet your tour leader for a city tour of Tromsø, often referred to as the “capital” of the Northern Lights. Located at 69° north, the city is surrounded by majestic mountains and stunning fjords. During the polar night season, the sun does not rise above the horizon for nearly 50 days, creating a truly magical atmosphere. During the panoramic tour, you will see some of the city’s most notable landmarks, including the iconic Arctic Cathedral. A cable car ride on the Fjellheisen is included, offering breathtaking views from above. Return to the city and enjoy a free afternoon for shopping or relaxation. Dinner at leisure, followed by a special New Year’s Eve Northern Lights Cruise aboard a hybrid vessel. You will sail into 2027 through the fjords, and at midnight, you may witness the night sky illuminated both by fireworks and, with some luck, the Northern Lights. Upon return, you may continue the celebrations at the hotel before overnight stay.
Day 3 Harstad
Breakfast at the hotel. Free morning to relax after the celebrations or to join optional activities. In the afternoon, departure by bus to Harstad and dinner at the hotel upon arrival. Overnight stay. Your tour leader will monitor aurora activity and may suggest an evening walk away from artificial lights if conditions are favorable.
Day 4 Sortland and Stokmarknes
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, depart for Sortland where you will board a RIB boat for an exciting excursion to the majestic Trollfjord, with opportunities to spot sea eagles along the way. Continue to Stokmarknes to visit the Hurtigruten Museum, which tells the story of its importance to Norway’s coastal communities. Return to Sortland for dinner and overnight stay. Aurora monitoring continues, with the possibility of an evening walk under optimal conditions.
Day 5 Lofoten Islands
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the stunning Lofoten Islands via a scenic route. The Arctic light reveals its full spectrum of colors until sunset, when the Northern Lights may begin their display. Begin exploring the northern part of the archipelago, including Gimsøya with its beautiful beaches, and other remarkable locations such as Henningsvær, known as one of the largest fishing villages in the region. Its traditional buildings set directly over the sea house charming bars and restaurants with spectacular harbor views. Arrival in Svolvær, the main town of the archipelago and a key stop for Hurtigruten ships as well as a departure point for many sea excursions. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. Optional evening excursion: “Northern Lights Hunt in the Lofoten Islands” by bus with a guide.
Day 6 Lofoten Islands
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day dedicated to exploring the southern part of the Lofoten archipelago, where landscapes feel almost surreal. Steep mountains plunge directly into the sea, creating dramatic and unforgettable scenery. Stops include Å and Reine, charming fishing villages with incomparable character, as well as a photo stop at the stunning white sands of Ramberg Beach. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7 Harstad
Breakfast at the hotel. Free morning for final visits in the Lofoten Islands. Departure for Harstad, arrival in the afternoon, and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay. Aurora activity will be monitored, with the possibility of an evening walk if conditions allow.
Day 8 Departure, Harstad
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by Flybussen to Evenes Airport.
