A week exploring Norway, from historic cities to majestic fjords and mountain landscapes. The journey begins in Oslo and quickly heads north, crossing valleys and picturesque villages before reaching the panoramic viewpoints of Dalsnibba and the Geirangerfjord. It then continues to Ålesund and the Romsdalen Valley, where unforgettable experiences await, including fjord cruises, scenic cable cars, and the famous Golden Train along the Rauma Railway. The itinerary goes on to the iconic Atlantic Road, offering breathtaking scenery where the ocean meets modern engineering, before concluding in Trondheim, Norway’s first capital, dominated by the majestic Nidaros Cathedral.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival, Oslo
Arrival in Oslo and independent transfer to the hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay.
Day 2 Oslo and Innlandet
Breakfast at the hotel and meeting with your tour leader. Explore Oslo on a three-hour guided tour, admiring the city’s highlights and learning about its fascinating history. Visit key landmarks including the City Hall, the Royal Palace, Karl Johan Street with its cathedral, and the modern Opera House overlooking the fjord. Just outside the city center, visit Frogner Park, home to the permanent collection of Gustav Vigeland’s bronze and granite sculptures. Continue to the Dombås area with a stop at the charming Ringebu Stave Church (entrance included). Overnight at the hotel, dinner included.
Day 3 Ålesund
Breakfast and depart for a day immersed in nature. Cross a spectacular mountain area with a stop at Dalsnibba, one of Europe’s highest viewpoints. Continue with a short fjord cruise from Geiranger to Hellesylt. In the early afternoon, head to Loen and ride the Loen Skylift cable car, enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding fjords (round-trip ticket included). Continue along Norway’s west coast with a ferry crossing from Festøya to Solavågen before reaching Ålesund. Overnight at the hotel, dinner at leisure or optional traditional cod dinner, a local specialty.
Day 4 Romsdalen and Ålesund
Breakfast at the hotel. Explore the Romsdalen Valley, boarding the famous Golden Train along the Rauma Railway, considered one of Europe’s most scenic routes. Take the Romsdalen Gondola for breathtaking panoramic views (round-trip ticket included). In the afternoon, return to Ålesund and climb the 418-step path to the Aksla viewpoint for spectacular views over the city and fjords.
Day 5 Atlantic Road and Kristiansund
Breakfast and meet your local guide for a two-hour tour of Ålesund’s historic center and Art Nouveau architecture. After a short ferry crossing from Vestnes to Molde, drive along the spectacular Atlantic Road (Atlanterhavsveien), a breathtaking route connecting islands via seven bridges where nature and engineering combine in a unique experience. Overnight in the Kristiansund area, dinner included.
Day 6 Trondheim
After breakfast, continue north with a ferry crossing from Kanestraum to Halsa to reach Trondheim, the tour’s final stop and Norway’s third-largest city. Trondheim’s architecture reflects its long history, from the colorful wooden houses of Bakklandet along the Nidelva River to 19th-century neoclassical buildings and modern university structures. Visit Nidaros Cathedral (entrance included), the largest Gothic building in Scandinavia, built over the burial site of Saint Olav, Norway’s patron saint. Overnight at the hotel, dinner at leisure.
Day 7 Departure, Trondheim
Breakfast at the hotel and independent transfer to the airport.
