The journey begins in Athens, with the Acropolis and its tales of gods and heroes, then continues to Mycenae and the picturesque coastal town of Nafplio. The tour goes on to Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games, and to Delphi, among temples and ancient ruins. Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival, Athens

Upon arrival at Athens airport, you will be welcomed by a representative who will accompany you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to settle in, relax after the flight, and explore the surroundings independently, before meeting the group and starting the guided visits the following morning. Meals: not included

Day 2 Athens

The Athens tour begins in the morning at the Panathenaic Stadium, where you will learn about the first edition of the modern Olympic Games held here in 1896. You will then visit several highlights of both ancient and modern Athens, including the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, and Syntagma Square. In the afternoon, you will visit one of the most important and famous archaeological sites in the world: the Acropolis. Perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the city, it offers spectacular views. You will admire the Erechtheion, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, and, of course, the most iconic Greek monument, the Parthenon, which once housed the famous sculptures now kept at the British Museum in London. You will return to the hotel and have the evening free to dine at one of the city’s renowned tavernas or restaurants, perhaps wandering through the lively streets of the Plaka district. Day 3 Mycenae, Nafplio, and Palamidi Fortress

You will leave Athens early in the morning and cross the Corinth Canal en route to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mycenae. Here you will visit the legendary home of Agamemnon, the Lion Gate, the royal tombs, and the imposing Cyclopean walls. After the guided tour, you will continue to Nafplio, the first capital of Greece, located in the Argolis region. This picturesque town lies at the foot of a cliff, dominated by the massive fortifications of Palamidi Fortress. You will end the day traveling to Olympia, where you will overnight. Meals: breakfast and dinner (lunch not included)

Day 4 Olympia

Departure from Nafplio early in the morning towards Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games, believed to have originated here in 776 BC. You will visit the archaeological site of Ancient Olympia and learn about the history of the Games, seeing the Temple of Zeus and Hera, the Stadium, the Olympic Flame altar, and the museum, which houses the impressive statue of Hermes by Praxiteles. In the afternoon, you will leave Olympia and continue north, crossing the Rio-Antirio Bridge toward Delphi. Meals: breakfast and dinner (lunch not included)

Day 5 Delphi and Kalambaka

Delphi was once considered the center of the ancient world. Here you will visit several sites, including the remains of the Temple of Apollo, surprisingly well preserved. You will also see the Temple of Athena, the Delphi Oracle, and the Castalian Spring, before visiting the Archaeological Museum of Delphi, which houses some of ancient Greece’s most important masterpieces. You will then continue inland, passing through beautiful villages and towns of central Greece, observing traditional local architecture, before arriving at the small and picturesque town of Kalambaka, nestled at the foot of the Meteora. Meals: breakfast and dinner (lunch not included)

Day 6 Meteora Monasteries

In this spectacular location, you will see towering cliffs topped with ancient Christian monasteries. You will visit some of them and enjoy extraordinary views of the surrounding valleys. You will then continue toward Athens, passing through Trikala, Lamia, and Thermopylae, with a brief stop to admire the Leonidas Monument. Finally, you will return to Athens in the late afternoon for your last night in the city. Meals: breakfast (lunch and dinner not included)

Day 7 Departure, Athens

Your tour ends after breakfast. You will have free time for a final exploration of Athens or for souvenir shopping before your transfer to the airport. Meals: breakfast (lunch and dinner not included)
