Itinerary

Days 1 to 3 Arrival, from Johannesburg to Zululand
Departure from Johannesburg at 06:30, crossing the Highveld Plateau before descending into the heart of KwaZulu Natal, renowned for its rich culture and spectacular wildlife. You will stay for the next 3 nights in a lodge located in a private reserve. Explore the lodge on a morning walk, followed by an exciting afternoon safari in the Mkuzi Game Reserve. Mkuzi plays a key role in the conservation of endangered black and white rhinos, and you will have the opportunity to observe them at the watering hole. On the third day, explore Hluhluwe Game Reserve in the morning, with lunch at one of the picnic spots along the Hluhluwe River. Returning to the lodge in the early afternoon, you will have time to relax or swim, before heading out for a guided late-afternoon walk. Meals: 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 3 dinners
Day 4 Kosi Bay
Kosi Bay Nature Reserve covers an area of fertile estuaries, mangroves, forests, and lakes. In the afternoon, walk to the lake to explore this extraordinary ecosystem by boat, while the following morning you will travel by 4x4 vehicle to the mouth of the Kosi estuary. A special feature of Kosi Bay is traditional fish trap fishing. You will have time to swim, walk along the beach, or snorkel on the coral reefs at the estuary mouth. Meals: breakfast and lunch (dinner not included)
Day 5 and 6 Ponta do Ouro (Mozambique)
Ponta do Ouro is a paradise for ocean lovers in southern Mozambique. Here you can join a marine excursion with a local dolphin research team. Two boat trips are included, offering the opportunity to snorkel on coral reefs, observe dolphins and whales from the boat, and, weather permitting, swim with the dolphins. Encountering dolphins in their natural environment is an extraordinary experience. (If weather conditions prevent the boat departure, part of the on-site payment will be refunded proportionally.) Meals: breakfast and lunch (dinner not included)
Day 7 Maputo
Maputo, formerly known as Lourenço Marques, is the economic heart of Mozambique. Here Portuguese and African cultures meet in an extraordinary mix of seafood cuisine and vibrant atmospheres. You can enjoy excellent seafood at a local restaurant (at your own expense). Meals: breakfast and lunch (dinner not included)
Day 8 and 9 Inhambane
Traveling north along the Indian Ocean coast, you will pass mango and cashew plantations before reaching the city of Inhambane. Arab influences are strong in Inhambane, dating back to when slaves, ivory, gold, and spices were traded. Explore the city, its 200-year-old cathedral, and the picturesque fresh produce market, before heading to Praia de Barra. Relax and enjoy the warm sea and wide white sandy beaches; for the more active, optional activities are available such as dhow excursions, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, and surfing (at your own expense). Meals: 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 1 dinner
Day 10 Chizavane
Travel south along the coast to reach a beachfront lodge north of Xai-Xai. At low tide, a long rock reef emerges parallel to the shore, forming a shallow, calm natural pool, ideal for snorkeling and swimming. For the last night by the sea, enjoy a grilled seafood dinner (braai) at the lodge’s restaurant with views of the Indian Ocean. Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Day 11 and 12 Kruger National Park (South Africa)
Leaving the Indian Ocean coast, you will cross the Limpopo Transfrontier Park and enter Kruger National Park in South Africa. During the transfer to the camp, enjoy an exciting game drive with the hope of spotting lions, giraffes, elephants, and many other animals. Meals: 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 1 dinner
Day 13 Greater Kruger
The following morning, rise early to spend the full day exploring the park before reaching the private lodge. Spend the evening relaxing by the pool or around the fire, immersed in the tranquility of African nature. Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Day 14 Johannesburg
The last day begins with an exciting guided walk in the private reserve. Rangers will lead you on foot through the African bush, interpreting animal tracks and signs, with the possibility of spotting large mammals. After brunch at the lodge, return to Johannesburg in the late afternoon. The tour concludes at 18:00 at the hotel. Meals: brunch
