Ancient Georgia

A journey into the heart of the Caucasus

Overview

Ancient Georgia

An itinerary through a still relatively unexplored destination, yet rich in remarkable charm: Georgia. From vibrant Tbilisi, with its contrasts between ancient architecture and contemporary atmospheres, the journey follows the spectacular Georgian Military Highway into the landscapes of the Caucasus, where the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church overlooks the valleys from above. The route continues through key sites of Georgian history: the ancient capital Mtskheta, the country’s spiritual heart, and the cave town of Uplistsikhe, carved into the rock along the ancient Silk Road. You then reach Vardzia, a cave complex carved into the cliffs, before continuing into the Imereti region and on to Kutaisi, a city linked to the myth of the Golden Fleece. Before concluding the journey back in Tbilisi, you will enjoy a wine tasting of wines produced using traditional methods.
